Financial lexicon

Yield
This should not be confused with profitability, as it refers to the level of the dividend divided by the share price.
Yield curve
The yield curve shows the relationship between interest rates and maturity. For each maturity it provides the interests from today and up to 30 years. Generally speaking the longer the maturity, the higher the interest rate yield. The curve is therefore rising.
Yield To Maturity (YTM)
The YTM represents the yield obtained by a financial instrument bearing coupons up until maturity.
