- What is the “rating” of a fund (notation in a number of stars)?
A fund’s rating is defined by a number of stars (on a scale of 1 to 5) that indicate the quality of results obtained by the fund.
This rating is based on the results obtained over the previous 3 years compared to a relevant comparative index and the fund’s volatility (and therefore the level of risk).
Good investment returns obtained on the basis of high risks are mercilessly sanctioned by the notation system. On the other hand, an investment fund that gets satisfactory but unexceptional results can obtain a good notation if the level of risk is low.
How do you interpret the number of stars given by the notation system?
Number of stars Interpretation * quality well below the index ** quality below the average *** average quality (comparable to the index) **** above average quality ***** quality well above the index
Given that to receive a star, a fund is observed for 3 years, “young” investment funds (< 3 years) do not benefit from a rating. But this does not mean that they are not worth considering! - There are a number of investment funds that I can’t find on your site!
